In such a publication or Web site, the institution should indicate that the Commission is to be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support an institution's significant non-compliance with a requirement or standard. The institution is expected to be accurate in reporting to the public its status with the Commission. 3.14.1 Publication of accreditation status
Bossier Parish Community College is in compliance with this federal requirement because the name of its primary accreditor, its address, and phone number are published by the College. The wording does not in any way suggest that information inquiries about general admission to Bossier Parish Community College should be directed to the Commission on Colleges.
The College's primary accreditor, the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, has its name, address and phone number published in the print and online versions of the General Catalog 2 and each semester's Academic Bulletin 47. Other print publications that contain the name, address and phone number of the primary accreditor are FAST FACTS 8; the BPCC General Brochure 3, which is an annual overview of the College; the annual recruiting poster; as well as the back shell of each program/service brochure-2005-2006 ( business example) 16 of the following divisions/departments of BPCC: Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences , Division of Business and Computer Science, Division of Community Education, Division of Economic Development, Division of Liberal Arts, Division of Mathematics and Technical Education, Division of Science and Allied Health, Division of Telecommunications, and Student Services. All of the above printed materials are housed in Building F 254.
The "Official Transcript" printed by the Admissions/Registrar's Office, which has only the name of the primary accreditor published on it, is housed in F 120.
Bossier Parish Community College also publishes newsletters for external distribution to the public to inform them of the College's programs, accomplishments and contributions to the community. Beginning with the spring 2006 issues, "This is BPCC" 2 and the "Economic Development Newsletter" 4 include the primary accreditor's name, address, and phone number. The Graduation Program 8 for students who graduate from Bossier Parish Community College each semester includes the accreditor's name, address, and phone number. These publications are all housed in Building A 122.
The current online 2006-2007 versions of the College's General Catalog, Academic Bulletin, and the Student Handbook list the name, address, and phone number of the College's primary accreditor.
