Bossier Parish Community College is in compliance with this comprehensive standard because the members of
its governing board can be dismissed only for cause and by due process. The
Bylaws of the Board of Supervisors of the LCTCS Article I , Section 2 states that members of the board shall be
appointed and their terms of service shall be as provided in the Louisiana Constitution.
Louisiana Constitution, Article VIII, Sections 7.1 B and C states, "The board shall be composed of fifteen
members appointed by the Governor, as provided by law. . .All members selected and appointed by the Governor shall
be appointed with the consent of the Senate . . .."
Neither the Louisiana Constitution nor the bylaws of the Board of Supervisors of the LCTCS have specific rules
regarding the dismissal of a board member. Board members are subject to the same areas of the constitution that
contain guidelines and procedures that apply to all other appointed public officials as stated in the
Louisiana Constitution , Article X, Part 1 Section 5.
