Bossier Parish Community College is in compliance with this comprehensive standard because the College publishes information and policies related to student rights and responsibilities in the Student Handbook and in the General Catalog. Both documents are available on the College website; the General Catalog is distributed in person or by mail to every student upon admission to the College.
In addition, student rights and responsibilities are delineated in part in the Academic Bulletin 5-18 that is published three times per academic year (fall, spring, and summer) and in the Student Services Brochure published once per year.
Primary topics regarding student rights and responsibilities addressed in the Student Handbook and General Catalog include the following:
The Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) is addressed in the Student Handbook 7 and in the General Catalog 71-72.
The section under which Alcohol and Drug policies are stated is governed by the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act Amendment of 1989, Public Law to which Bossier Parish Community College complies. This information is addressed in the Student Handbook 8 and in the General Catalog 75.
The Code of Conduct as stated in the Student Handbook and General Catalog 63-69 is also posted in the public area of Building F - Emmett E. Cope Student Services Building.
