The BPCC staff roster for the Student Affairs Division lists the names, positions, and years of experience at BPCC, and in higher education, but fails to list the discipline of the highest education degree obtained for each staff member. Therefore, an adequate assessment of the qualifications cannot be completed. The On-Site Committee should review the academic credentials of the staff to ensure that the staff is adequately qualified. |

In its original Compliance narrative for Comprehensive Standard 3.9.3, Bossier Parish Community College stated that it is in compliance with this comprehensive standard because the professional staff members in the Division of Student Affairs hold appropriate degrees in their disciplines or possess an appropriate combination of education and experience. The Off-Site Committee felt that the documentation of this statement was inadequate. Therefore, to document compliance, each Student Affairs Staff member has completed a Student Services Credential Verification Form which includes the following: degree(s) earned, discipline(s) where credit hours were earned, credit hours in discipline, institution granting credit, and date of awarding degree. In addition, the form verifies related work experience in the field, professional licensure and certifications, appropriate honors and awards, and other demonstrated competencies and achievements. Because of privacy issues, these documents are kept on file in a locked filing cabinet in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. A copy of these forms will be on file for review by the On-Site Committee. |
