Technical Diploma in Pharmacy Technology

Objective:

To provide the health care community with qualified pharmacy technicians, who are prepared to work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists in the retail or hospital clinical pharmacy field.

Specific diploma requirements:

Students pursuing a Pharmacy Technology Technical Diploma must first meet College admission requirements. Upon the successful completion (minimum of a "C") of qualification courses, submission of an Allied Health program application, academic rating forms (references), and satisfactory Work Keys Assessment scores for Pharmacy Technician, a student may interview for clinical training. Clinical classes are selected in the summer of each year. Up to twenty (20) students are selected for each clinical class.

Additional Requirements:

  • Certificate students must test our of READ 099, into ENGL 101, and into MATH 099 as documented by ACT, placement test, or course completion.
  • Documented typing speed of 25 wpm or completion of Keyboarding (CIS 099).
  • ALHT 116 has MATH 099 as a prerequisite course or ACT math score of 16 or higher.
