
Objective:
To prepare students to function at the entry level of a pharmacy technician. This program is designed to provide a didactic background for pharmacy technicians who currently hold a work permit and will be taking the Pharmacy Technician certification examination. There is no clinical component, as the program is designed for students currently working as pharmacy technicians.
Specific Requirements:
Students pursuing a Pharmacy Technology Technical Competency Area must first meet College admission requirements. Upon the submission of an Allied Health program application, references, and satisfactory Work Keys Assessment scores for Pharmacy Technician, a student may interview for the program.
To qualify for admission in the Pharmacy Technology TCA, the student must:
- Be 18 years of age or older. Be a high school graduate or possess a GED
- Submit three references.
- Interview evaluation by selection committee
- Submit satisfactory Work Keys Assessment score.
- Hold a current Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy Work Permit.
