How to be a Successful Online Student Taking Accelerated Courses

Online Courses

Students taking online courses will be utilizing BPCC's Blackboard E-Learning Platform.

Students need to be self-motivated with good study and time management skills: they need to be computer literate, be goal oriented, capable of learning on their own through reading, research, and assignments, be able to save and manage files on their computer, know how to send and open e-mail attachments, check e-mail, access the Internet, and participate in their online course at least 3-5 times per week. Some courses require access to certain software programming.

First-Time Online Students

Blackboard is the course management system for all BPCC online courses. Blackboard student orientation is REQUIRED for all students taking BPCC online courses for the first time.
