![]() Milestones: 1966 A joint resolution of the Louisiana legislature created Airline College (later to become Bossier Parish Community College) as a pilot program. The purpose of the program was to determine a need for, and feasibility of, establishing two-year (grades 13 and 14) commuter colleges throughout the state. 1967
Airline College opens doors to students. Eight faculty and 101 students use Airline High School as their classrooms.
Bob Horneman is named as the first chief administrator, serving from 1967 to 1973.
1968 Individualized registration begins. 1969
Until his death in 2008, Eddy Shell was the last remaining original faculty member teaching at BPCC.
