Donna Service Art Gallery
A gallery for display of student art work in all forms
The gallery hosts various exhibitions throughout the year, including the Congressional Art Show, the Caddo Talented Arts Program show, and works by BPCC students and faculty. The gallery was named in honor of deceased BPCC art instructor Donna Service—who taught various art classes.
Located in Building A, the gallery is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Liberal Arts Division would like to announce the Spring 2015 opening exhibition Hard and Soft, showcasing the mixed media work of Amanda Roe and the fiber art of Leslie Gregory Gruesbeck. The exhibit will be on display in the Donna Service Gallery from February 9th through March 20th. The opening reception for the exhibit will be held on February 24th between 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Gruesbeck is an Assistant Professor of Art and the Gallery Coordinator at Northwestern State University ’s Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts. Roe teaches visual art classes at the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts as well as classes for Bossier Parish Community College through the BPCC at NSU program.
Roe’s series of expressionist paintings deal with the act of sugar-coating reality whereas Gruesbeck’s work explores the soft world of her artistic expression through textiles. We hope that many students, faculty, and community members will join us on campus during the reception to greet the artists and view their work on display.
