Bossier Parish Community College’s basketball team participated in a free clinic for students sponsored by Central Park Elementary School in Bossier City. Approximately 50 students attended and were given instruction in shooting, passing, rebounding, dribbling, and defensive skills. BPCC basketball players who assisted were Darrell Phillips, Dominic Dennis, and Jeremy Malone. Supervising the clinic were BPCC coaches Joe St. Andre’ and Bill McConathy.

Bossier City, LA – The Bossier Parish Community College basketball team wrapped up the 2008-2009 campaign by dropping its final game to Trinity Valley (TX) Community College Saturday afternoon. The final score was 96-63.
The Cavaliers were led in scoring by Simeon Norman with 18 points. Brance Davenport also scored 16 for the Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers finish the season 12-18 and 2-18 in Region XIV.

Pasadena, TX - The Cavalier basketball team lost a Region XIV match-up Saturday against San Jacinto College. This drops the Cavalier basketball record to 2-16 in Region play and 12-16 overall. This loss knocked the Cavaliers out of contention of qualifying for the Region XIV Post-season Tournament.
The Cavaliers were led in scoring by Brance Davenport, Marcus Murray, and Marcus Jackson.

Bossier City, LA – The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers (12-15, 2-15) picked up a victory on the hardwood against Kilgore (TX) College (10-16, 5-10). The Cavaliers defeated the Rangers 66-63. This pulls the Cavaliers to just three games back in qualifying for the Region XIV Tournament.
The Cavaliers were led by strong play by the big men as post players Marcus Jackson and Glenn Heard each scored 15 points. Marcus Murray scored 12.
The Cavaliers travel to the Houston, TX, area Saturday to take on San Jacinto College.

Corsicana, TX – The BPCC Cavalier Basketball team saw its record fall to 11-15 after a second half scoring surge pulled the Navarro College Bulldogs (19-7) into the lead.
The Cavaliers showed good team discipline as they took a 28 – 27 lead into the intermission. In the next twenty minutes, the Bulldogs outscored the Cavaliers by 25 points that led to the 83-59 final.
Brance Davenport led the Cavs in scoring with 13 points. Jasson Roberson scored 12.
The Cavaliers take on Kilgore College on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the BPCC Gymnasium.

Bossier City, LA – The Cavalier basketball team (11-8, 1-8) notched its first win in Region XIV play Saturday as the team defeated the Lamar State-Port Arthur Seahawks (7-11, 1-8) by a score of 84-57.
Brance Davenport led the Cavaliers with 15 points. Marcus Jackson added 13 points and Demarius Smith and Virgil Washington each dropped in 12 points each. Lamar State-Port Arthur was led by Adrian Fontenot, who scored a game high 30.
The Cavaliers defensive pressure created several turnover opportunities that led the team to a 38-28 lead at the half. The Cavaliers continued that pressure in the second half outscoring its opponent 46-29 over the final 20 minutes of play. The Cavaliers shot 45% from the field and 41% from beyond the three-point line.
The Cavaliers begin preparation this week for the next conference game as the team travels to Jacksonville, TX, to take on Jacksonville College on Wednesday, January 28.
