Camtasia Studio

Camtasia StudioWill open new browser window or tabis a screen recorder program. With Camtasia you can record your video, edit it, and convert it to the needed format to present to your students.

SnagItWill open new browser window or tabis a screen capture program. With SnagIt you can capture any screen shot and save it as a graphic. Use it in your online course, PowerPoint presentation, Word document, or email it to someone.

Getting the Software:

To get the software on your BPCC computer, you must submit a “Request to Install Camtasia and SnagIt” work request to Computer Services. BPCC has purchased a set amount of licenses. However, this software license does not include additional instructor copies at home.

Instructional Information:

BPCC offers training through the Department of Educational Technology. (Click here for a training schedule.) The hands-on training is broken into 2 parts. Each training is 2 hour in length and covers the following topics:

  • Part I – Basic: In this session, you will be introduced to the basic functions required to produce a Camtasia Studio project.
  • Part II – Advanced: You will learn how to add narration to your project and edit audio. You will also learn how to insert “Call Outs” (closed captioning) to the video project.
