Orientation for Blackboard Online Classes

Blackboard OrientationWe are excited about the new term of online classes and want to start you off with all the information you need to be successful.

Blackboard student orientation is REQUIRED for all students taking BPCC online courses for the first time. It's also beneficial if you want to refresh your memory about taking an online course. Blackboard orientation is available online or face-to-face. If you are ready NOW, click on the Take Orientation Now link. If you would like a face-to-face orientation, plan to attend one of the sessions listed below.

Note: Instructors delivering courses via the Internet will provide their students with course specific information posted to the course site or they may require that you attend a MANDATORY face-to-face orientation session on BPCC's campus. Please see BPCC's Academic Bulletin or visit http://www.bpcc.edu/educationaltechnology/onlinecourses.html to check for specific orientation requirements.

In orientation you will learn about:

  • Blackboard Online Learning System
    • getting help (BPCC support team)
    • login procedures
    • getting started (syllabus, course section information sheet)
    • announcements
    • accessing your course(s)
  • Other Services
    • Student Email login procedures
    • online tutoring (Smarthinking)
