Chancellor Carleton and BPCC 1st hosts Principals and Superintendents from local high schools to share information on the BPCC 1st initiative and parish student pipelines.

Dr. Jennifer Hurd, Author of the Campus Companion: Finding Your Way textbook adopted for use in BPCC’s EDUC 099 student success course, conducts a two-day curriculum planning workshop with student success course instructors Marjoree Harper, Linda-Hunter Scott, and Brenda Woods and Dean of Behavioral and Social Sciences Dee Dee Mitchell.

Four Academic Advising Workshops for staff were held to provide guidance on the Draft Quick Guide for Advising Students.

Dr. Sherri Huffmann, Danville Community College Core Team Leader, Danville, Virginia, conducted a training session for the Data Team in order to establish a BPCC Data Scorecard.

Marjoree Harper, Student Success Course Intervention Lead, Brenda Woods, and Linda Hunter-Scott attend the National Student Success Course Conference in Hawaii.

Marjoree Harper, Student Success Course Intervention Lead, will attend the National Student Success Course Conference in Hawaii. Two additional faculty members that will be teaching the Student Success Course this fall are also attending the conference.

Dr. Rick Voorhees, Core Team Coach, makes a campus visit to meet with the Core Team leads. Dr. Voorhees complimented the team on a successful 13 months of work.

Core Team leads represent BPCC 1st at the Achieving the Dream Institute in Atlanta, Georgia.

BPCC 1st sponsors an academic advising workshop series for all faculty. The workshop is considered mandatory professional development.

Lumina Foundation for Education awards Bossier Parish Community College a $225,000, 3 -year grant.

June 2007
BPCC submits grant proposal to the Lumina Foundation for Education which includes a $100,000 cash match from BPCC.

February 28-March 1
BPCC core team members trained by Dr. Ken Gonzales on focus group method to use in collecting qualitative data.

January 2007
BPCC receives an $11,600 grant from the Louisiana Community and Technical College System to pursue planning process for an implementation grant proposal to the Lumina Foundation for Education.
