Vita: Kristi Lobrano

Kristi Lobrano is Systems Librarian at Bossier Parish Community College Library. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Sociology and a Master in Library and Information Science.

Mrs. Lobrano began her library career as a Library Associate at the Middleton Library at LSU and at the Noel Memorial Library at LSU-Shreveport. In 2001, she began her work at Bossier Parish Community College as Reference Librarian; in 2003 she moved to her current position as Systems Librarian. In 2005, she was promoted to Assistant Professor.

During her time at Bossier Parish Community College, Ms. Lobrano has served as Recording Secretary of the Faculty Senate, a member and officer of several college committees, a member of the 2006-2008 SACS Reaffirmation Council and a Committee Chair. Additionally she presented several college workshops on library resources. Ms. Lobrano has also won several grants from the Board of Regents. Recently, she represented BPCC at the Louisiana Technical and Community College System Leadership Development Institute. 

Ms. Lobrano is active professional librarian. She has been a member of the Louisiana Library Association since 1999 and has served as Vice President of the Automation and Technology Interest Group since 2003. She has coordinated several conference programs and has been published in LLA's Louisiana Libraries. Ms. Lobrano is a current member of the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries and the Library and Information Technology Association. She is also serving on the LALINC Research and Development Committee and as the LOUIS System Administrator for BPCC. She has also presented at several state, regional and national Library, including the LOUIS Users Conference and SIRSI's Superconference.
