Vita: Teresa Rice

Teresa Rice is the Cataloging Librarian for Bossier Parish Community College. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University, Sacramento. She earned her Masters in Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University.

Teresa Rice has been at Bossier Parish Community College since August 2005. Prior to accepting her first professional librarian appointment at BPCC, she was a library associate in Archives and Special Collections at Noel Memorial Library at LSUS.

Teresa Rice is active in her professional organizations. She is a member of the American Library Association and the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.

While completing her undergraduate degree at CSU at Sacramento, Teresa Rice earned the Website Master’s Certificate, "Managing Information on the Web." She has designed and maintained web sites including the web sites for Krewe of Barkus and Meoux and Archives and Special Collections at LSUS. For her work on the Archives web site, she was invited to deliver the presentation "Rethinking, Reformatting & Getting Your Finding Aids on the Web" for NARA/ARMA/LAMA Conference held at LSUS on November 4, 2005.

At Bossier Parish Community College, Teresa Rice is a member of college and library committees. She is the editor of the library newsletter, BPCC Library News. She was awarded a grant from the Louisiana Board of Regents Support Fund for Enhancement Program for Two-Year Institutions in April 2006. She regularly attends meetings and events for professional growth such as the LOUIS Users Conference.
