Bossier Parish Community CollegeAcademic Bulletin Electronic Learning Courses Students participating in electronic learning courses have greater freedom of scheduling but electronic courses require more self-discipline than traditional on-campus classes. Electronic courses require much more time than on-campus courses and are generally harder than traditional classes. You can expect to spend anywhere from 10-15 hours per week per online course. Also, many of the traditional courses taught at BPCC are web-enhanced by the wide utilization of the Blackboard Course Management System. Students enrolled in electronic courses need to be computer literate; goal oriented; capable of learning on their own through reading, research, and assignments; be able to save and manage files on their computer; know how to send and open email attachments; check email; access the Internet; and participate in the online course at least 3-5 times per week. Some CIS courses require access to certain software programs. Consult the listing of online courses for this information.
