Computer Information Systems
Associate of Applied Science

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems provides the graduate with the knowledge and applied technical skills needed to enter computer related occupations in the business/industry job market in one of three areas of concentration:

• Software Applications
• Computer Programming
• Management Information Systems

Learning Outcomes:

Recipients of the Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems will have demonstrated

1. ability to create and edit advanced word processing documents involving proper grammatical and formatting skills;
2. ability to create and edit advanced electronic spreadsheet documents utilizing basic algebra techniques and skills;
3. ability to create and edit advanced database documents;
4. ability to create and edit advanced presentation documents;
5. ability to create and edit basic computer web pages;
6. technical skills to apply basic computer operating program commands; and
7. successful communication within the business environment using verbal, written, and basic computer literacy skills;

or

1. technical knowledge and skills to create and edit computer programs;
2. application of upper level analytical problem solving abilities to develop solutions to real-world problems;
3. ability to navigate and utilize the internet;
4. technical skills to apply basic computer operating program commands;
5. ability to create and edit basic word processing documents involving proper grammatical and formatting skills;
6. ability to create and edit basic electronic spreadsheet documents utilizing basic algebra techniques and skills;
7. ability to create and edit basic database documents;
8. ability to create and edit basic presentation documents; and
