The Pharmacy Technician TCA prepares students to function at the entry level as a pharmacy technician. This program is designed to provide a didactic background for pharmacy technicians who currently hold a work permit and will be taking the Pharmacy Technician certification examination. There is no clinical component, as the program is designed for students currently working as pharmacy technicians trainees.
Students pursuing a Pharmacy Technician Technical Competency Area must first meet College admission requirements. Upon the submission of a program application and references, a student may interview for the program.
To qualify for admission in the Pharmacy Technician TCA, the student must:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Be a high school graduate or possess a GED
- Submit three references.
- Interviewed by a selection committee
- Hold a current Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy Work Permit
