Thirteen (13) Separate Concentrations

Learning Outcomes:

Recipients of Certificates of Technical Studies in Telecommunications will have demonstrated:

1. skills required for entry-level employment and performance in media-related services in their area of specialty: animation, broadcasting, graphic design, film, makeup, media for ministry, music, photography, radio, sound recording, and television production;
2. ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate job-related services within their area of expertise in media;
3. ability to supervise, recruit, and train employees within their field of expertise by applying human resource management techniques;
4. skill to comprehend, evaluate, and synthesize information related to their area of responsibility by demonstrating their expertise and being able to monitor the use of equipment, supplies, and quality of product;
5. skills to effectively communicate with staff, administration, and clients by documenting activities, maintaining databases, and effectively performing scheduled activities required for the job; and
6. skills necessary to prepare written reports including financial statements and the ability to make effective oral presentations.

Certificate students must test out of READ 099, into ENGL 101, and into MATH 099 as documented by ACT, placement tests, or course completion.
