The mission of the Division of Innovative Learning at Bossier Parish Community College is to contribute efforts that increase the educational attainment levels of adults in Louisiana. The Division of Innovative Learning develops and provides learning-centered, student-focused and market-responsive academic certificates and degree programs. Our innovative solutions, which increase access to educational opportunities in accelerated formats on campus and online, are convenient, flexible, and highly-personalized. The Division provides a structure for the academic success and credential attainment of adult learners leading to preparation for advancement into high-skill positions. The Division also encompasses the Early Start Program for high school students, Off-Campus Studies, and Veteran Education Services. The Division of Innovative Learning advocates the creation and implementation of adult-friendly institutional policies and student support services.
Associate Degree:
Certificate of Technical Studies:
Courses are taught through an innovative process that incorporates proven student success models with student preferred accelerated online delivery. Therefore, the courses are offered in 4-week and 8-week formats and result in a fast track to graduation.
Students currently enrolled in a public or private Louisiana high school or an approved Louisiana State Department of Education home school program may earn high school Carnegie units and BPCC college credits by meeting the certain criteria.
Classes are offered at various off site locations to better serve students.
Bossier Parish Community College has created a process by which a student will learn to create and submit a portfolio for assessment to determine if course credit will be awarded for college level learning which has been acquired through work, volunteer or other life experiences. More information on portfolio and all forms of Prior Learning Assessment at BPCC are located within the Academic Policies and Procedures section of the General Catalog.
Transcript Evaluation. The Innovative Learning staff provide unofficial transcript evaluations to help adults determine how much credit may be used in an accelerated degree program at BPCC.
