Cavalier Cheerleaders and Mascot

The Cavalier Cheerleader squad performs at all home basketball games and represents the College at various events on-campus and in the community throughout the year. Students receive course credit and scholarships are available. Become a vital part of student life here at BPCC and learn all the techniques needed to walk onto a four-year university cheer squad. The only thing missing on our squad is you! We know you will love our program; and, we look forward to meeting you!

Member Requirements

  • Must maintain a full-time status (12 hours or more)
  • Must maintain a 2.00 or higher grade point average
  • Must NOT have received prior scholarships totaling six semesters at BPCC
  • Must be in good academic standing at BPCC or previous school attended
  • Must be in good physical health and have no health or physical complications that would hamper the ability to perform as a cheerleader or would cause cheerleading to be a unsafe activity
  • Must attend all practices and events scheduled by the advisor
  • Must commit to 20 hours of community service per semester
  • Must remain dedicated to squad unity and to Bossier Parish Community College
  • Must be able to set aside personal desire in favor of squad excellence

Mascot Clinic

A mandatory mascot clinic will be held in Building F, Room 203 on the following date:

Friday, October 7 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Those trying out for mascot MUST attend this clinic in order to become familiarized with cheers, chants, etc. A two-minute routine that includes dancing, crowd involvement, motions, and props must be prepared and WILL be judged at tryouts.

Mascot Tryouts

Tryouts will be held in Building F, Room 203 on the following date:

Sunday, October 9 2:00 p.m.

Tryouts are open to anyone who wishes to attend. There will be a $3.00 admission taken at the door prior to entering the facility which is located at 6220 East Texas Street.

Summer Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Fall and Spring Tuesday and Thursday
Sunday		 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.
4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
