Disability Services coordinates campus-wide efforts to provide services and accommodations
for students with disabilities. In compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the office ensures that eligible students receive
proper classroom modification and serves as a liaison between faculty
and students. Medical or psychological documentation is required to recognize
a disability. Categories include:
- Physical
impairment
- Sensory
impairment (hearing or vision impaired)
- Specific
learning disability
- Psychiatric/addictive
disorders
To begin
services, a registered BPCC student must not only provide the Disability Services with proper documentation, but must request
assistance. In order to receive special accommodations for standardized
tests (ACT), students must make the request at least two weeks in advance
of the test date.
Stop by Building F, Room 250, or call 318-678-6315 for an appointment. |
