Criteria and Procedures

Criteria:
The Foundation Scholarship Committee will award two (2) scholarships of up to $500 per semester.
These scholarships may be awarded to applicants satisfying the following criteria:
- Scholarship applicant must be a full-time (12 credit hours) student at BPCC.
- Scholarship applicant must be an entering freshman with a high school GPA of 2.00 or an entering college transfer student with a cumulative 2.00 GPA.
- Scholarship applicants are encouraged to be seeking a Criminal Justice associate degree.
- Scholarship applicant must demonstrate a special or unusual financial need or demonstrate other existing special circumstances or documented disability.
- Scholarship applicant must possess talents that lend credibility to the College.
- Scholarship applicant must not be receiving any other type of financial assistance.
Procedures for applying for the Christus Schumpert Bossier Guild Scholarship:
- Scholarship applicant must submit an application, a letter requesting the scholarship which explains the circumstances surrounding the request, and all required documents to the BPCC Foundation Office.
- The Foundation Scholarship Committee will review all applications.
- The Foundation Office will mail award and denial letters to scholarship applicants.
- The Foundation Office will notify the Financial Aid Office of recipients as scholarships are awarded.
BPCC Foundation Scholarship Requirements
- Student must have a 2.500 GPA on all college work; and
- Student must be enrolled in 12 credit hours (full-time) at BPCC; and
- Student must demonstrate a special or unusual financial need as determined by the Committee; or
- Student possesses talents that are desirable and will lend credibility to the College; or
- Student has other special circumstances existing, which warrant the issuing of a scholarship award.
