BPCC Foundation CALL Scholarship Criteria & Application Process
Continuum for All Louisiana Learners (CALL) Assistance and Scholarship Opportunities:
The Foundation Scholarship Committee will award two types of assistance to students who have been admitted to a CALL degree program: (1) CALL Supplemental Assistance Awards and (2) CALL Scholarship Awards.
1.) CALL Supplemental Assistance (Receiving some form of aid)
A total of eight (8) CALL Supplemental Assistance Awards will be granted to eligible students per academic year. These funds are designated for CALL students who MAY BE RECEIVING SOME FORM OF FINANCIAL AID, but require additional assistance to help offset the expenses of books, fees, or other unanticipated, school-related costs. Supplemental assistance may be awarded as follows:
- Up to $250 awarded per student
- One award per student, per semester
Requirements for applying for CALL Supplemental Assistance:
- Student must be admitted and enrolled in the BPCC CALL Fast-Track program.
- Student must be on file at the BPCC Financial Aid Office.
2.) CALL Academic Scholarship Award (Receiving no other Aid)
Students applying for the CALL Academic Scholarship Award must NOT BE RECEIVING ANY OTHER FORM OF FINANCIAL AID; are considered based on enrollment status and must meet specific requirements as listed in the “Requirements” section of this form. CALL Academic Awards may be granted as follows:
- $500 PART-TIME: Student pursuing a minimum of 6 credit hours
- $1,000, FULL-TIME: Student must be pursuing a minimum of 12 credit hours
Student must be admitted and enrolled in the BPCC CALL Fast-Track program.
Requirements for applying for CALL Academic Scholarships:
These scholarships are to be awarded to persons possessing the following merits:
- All applicants must possess minimum 2.000 GPA on high school or college work. Student is or will be enrolled in 12 credit hours (full-time) or minimum 6 credit hours (part time) at BPCC during time for which he/she is requesting assistance.
- Applicant demonstrates a special or unusual financial need as determined by the committee.
- Applicant possesses talents that are desirable and which will lend credibility to the college. Student has other special existing circumstances which warrant the issuing of a scholarship.
- Applicant must be admitted into one of the CALL degree programs to be eligible for this scholarship (e.g. Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in software applications, Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration, or Associate of General Studies).
- Applicant must not be receiving any other type of financial assistance.
Procedures for applying for Foundation Scholarships:
- Student Applicant must submit a CALL Fast-Track Scholarship application,
 letter, and all other required documents to the BPCC Foundation Office before the Application Deadline Date.
- Fast-track scholarship committee reviews applications and make recommendations of awards.
- Foundation Office will mail award and denial letters to applicants.
- Foundation Office will notify Financial Aid Office and CALL Fast-Track Program Coordinators of recipients as scholarships are awarded.
- Scholarship awards are applied to the BPCC student account for each recipient.
