SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA AND PROCEDURES

Criteria:

The Foundation Scholarship Committee will award one (1) Laura Bell Hardin Scholarship in the amount of $1,00 per semester. This scholarship is to be awarded to a person possessing the following merits:

1. Entering freshman with a high school 2.000 GPA or entering college transfer student with a cumulative 2.000 GPA on all college work

• Student is enrolled in 12 credit hours (full-time) at BPCC
• Student demonstrates a special or unusual financial need as determined by the committee
• Student possesses talents that are desirable and which will lend credibility to the college
• Student has other special existing circumstances which warrant the issuing of a scholarship
• Student must not be receiving any other type of financial assistance
  

Procedures for applying for the Foundation Scholarships:

• Applicant must submit an application, a letter, and all other required documents to the BPCC Foundation Office by July 15 for the fall semester and by November 15 for the spring semester
• Scholarship committee reviews applications
• Foundation Office will mail award and denial letters to applicants
• Foundation Office will notify Financial Aid Office of the recipient of the scholarship awarded
