Criteria for Annie Lowe Stiles Advanced Manufacturing and Advanced Welding Award

Award amounts: $250, $500 and $1,000 ($1,500 maximum allowed per student, per semester).

To be considered for this award, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Student must be enrolled in the Industrial Technology program at BPCC.
  2. Student must be nominated by their program director.
  3. Student must possess a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  4. Student must submit a scholarship application to Program Director (see below).
  5. Student must submit a recent transcript.
  6. Student must submit an essay (two paragraphs maximum) that would be reviewed by the selection committee for final selection.
  7. Student must display a level of professionalism and demonstrate leadership qualities and/or display characteristics that project a positive public image on the program and BPCC.
  8. Students from each BPCC Industrial Technology Program will be considered for an award. The programs that are eligible for consideration are as follows:

    Advanced Manufacturing and Advanced Welding
  9. Student must remain in good standing with the school (no academic restrictions, probations, or violations of school policies) to continue receiving award.
  10. Students may apply each semester for this award.
  11. Priority consideration will be given to applicants who currently reside in northwest Louisiana and to those who plan to live and work in the area after graduation.

Submission and Award Notification Process

  1. Application must be typed or neatly printed.
  2. Submit completed application to Director (below) in person, via fax or email.
  3. Applications are reviewed by the Industrial Technology Scholarship Committee within two weeks following the deadline.
  4. Industrial Technology Scholarship Committee submits recommendations for awards to BPCC Foundation for final approval.
  5. BPCC Foundation notifies BPCC Office of Business Office of award to post to student account.
  6. BPCC Foundation notifies recipient via email or phone within seven business days following receipt of recommendation from committee.

Application Deadlines: All required documents must be received by the deadlines below. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Fall applications due by: August 15
Spring applications due by: December 15
