Scholarships for the ASE (Award) Honoring Dr. James B. Henderson are to be awarded to persons possessing the following merits:

BPCC Foundation Academic Scholarship:

  • All applicants must possess minimum 3.000 GPA on high school or college work except when otherwise listed.
  • Student is or will be enrolled in 12 credit hours (full-time) or minimum 6 credit hours (part time) at BPCC during time for which he/she is requesting assistance.
  • Student demonstrates a special or unusual financial need as determined by the committee.
  • Student possesses talents that are desirable and which will lend credibility to the college and/or program for which they are enrolled.
  • Student has other special existing circumstances which warrant the issuing of a scholarship.
  • To receive maximum award of $1,500, student must not be receiving any other type of financial assistance. Some exceptions apply. See criteria for all awards.

Procedures for applying for BPCC Foundation Academic Scholarships:

  • Applicant must submit an application, letter stating need and transcript to the BPCC Foundation Office (building A, room 203).
  • Scholarship committee reviews applications.
  • Foundation Office will mail award and denial letters to applicants.
  • Foundation Office will notify Financial Aid Office of recipients as scholarships are awarded.
  • Application for scholarship does not guarantee an award. Students must maintain contact with Financial Aid office to plan for and fulfill financial obligations.

Application Periods and Deadlines:

  • Fall Semester: Applications accepted April 15 - July 15
  • Spring Semester: Applications accepted November 17 - December 15
