Criteria for AT&T Construction Technology Award

Program Overview

The goal of the LCTCS Foundation AT&T Construction Technology Program is to encourage success in the classroom, as well as success in industry. Under this program, the LCTCS Foundation will award a total of $3,000 to students at Bossier Parish Community College who meet the criteria listed below and who are enrolled in the construction or construction technology programs. These programs include: compressed schedule programs, Industry Based Certification Programs, and credit based courses as long as they are related to the construction/construction technology field. All BPCC scholarships will be awarded from BPCC Foundation on behalf of LCTCS and AT&T.

In addition to the criteria listed in the categories below, student must also meet the following general criteria to be considered for this award.

General Criteria

  • Student must display a financial need
  • Student is enrolled in compressed schedule programs, or,
  • Student is seeking an Industry Based Certification, or,
  • Student is enrolled in courses (credit or non-credit) related to the construction/construction technology field.
  • Student must submit a scholarship application.
  • Student must submit a recent transcript.
  • Student must submit a letter expressing why he/she should be scholarship recipient.

Specific Criteria and Number of Awards

Criteria: One (1) Full-time Award at $1,000: Academic Scholarships

Students considered for this award must possess the following:

  • Newly enrolled or currently enrolled at the full-time level at BPCC (minimum of 12 credit hours)
  • 3.0 GPA (on 4.0 scale) on their completed program work
  • Must pursue or have completed twelve hours of the catalog prescribed program
  • Be eligible for enrollment in MATH 102 and ENGL 101.
  • Possess and maintain good academic standing (non-probationary) to be considered for and to retain award

Criteria: Four (4) Part-time And Supplemental Awards Up to $500

  • Newly enrolling or currently enrolled at the full-time or part-time level at BPCC
  • 2.5 GPA (on 4.0 scale) on high school and college coursework
  • Must pursue at least 3 hours of the catalog prescribed program in the semester of the award
  • Be eligible for enrollment in MATH 102 and ENGL 101.
  • Possess and maintain good academic standing (non-probationary)
