Criteria

Award amounts: $250, $500 and $1,000 ($1,500 maximum allowed per student, per semester).

Type of Awards: Students may be selected to receive this award in one or both of the following categories:

  • Merit/talent-based (based on academic performance and/or demonstrated talent, aptitude or potential)
  • Need-based (demonstrated financial need)

Qualifications: To be considered for this award, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Student must be enrolled in and completed at least twelve (12) semester hours in the Associate of Applied Science in Construction Technology and Management program at BPCC.
  • Student must possess a minimum 2.50 Cumulative BPCC GPA.
  • Student must submit a scholarship application to Program Director (see below).
  • Student must submit a current BPCC transcript.
  • Students from the BPCC Construction Technology and Management Program will be considered for award.
  • Student must remain in good standing with the school (no academic restrictions, probations, or violations of school policies) to continue receiving award.
  • Students may apply for this award each semester that he/she is enrolled at BPCC provided they meet all other criteria and guidelines for this award.
  • Priority consideration will be given to applicants who currently reside in northwest Louisiana and to those who plan to live and work in the area after graduation.

Submission and Award Notification Process

  1. Application must be typed or neatly printed.
  2. Submit completed application to Director (below) in person, via fax or email.
  3. Submit a letter requesting the scholarship which explains why you are the best candidate for the scholarship. The letter should also identify where you plan to work after completing the Associate of Applied Science in Construction Technology and Management degree.
  4. Applications are reviewed by the Construction Technology and Management Scholarship Committee within two weeks following the deadline.
  5. Construction Technology and Management Scholarship Committee submits recommendations for awards to BPCC Foundation for final approval.
  6. BPCC Foundation notifies BPCC Business Office of award to post to student account.
  7. BPCC Foundation notifies recipient via email or phone within seven business days following receipt of decision from committee.

Application Deadlines:

All required documents must be received by the deadlines below. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Fall Deadline: August 15
Spring Deadline: December 15
