Annual Enrollment is the time to make changes to insurance benefits and the Cafeteria 125 Plan
(Flexible Benefits Plan).
Colonial Insurance will have a representative in the LC Lobby on April 10th and 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Fortis Dental will have a representative in the LC Lobby on April 10th and 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
TIAA-CREF will have an investment seminar in the LC Auditorium on April 25th from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (More information will be distributed at a later date.)
Group Benefits is scheduled to have an informational meeting on Thursday, April 18th at 12:30 p.m. in the LC Auditorium and also on Thursday, April 25th at 12:30 p.m. in the LC Auditorium.
The Flex Plan is a traditional "cafeteria plan" that basically gives you a way to take home more money on every paycheck. Your eligible insurance premiums and dependant care expenses are deducted from your gross salary first- before your taxes are deducted. Therefore, you pay less in taxes and your net paycheck increases.
Please Note: Elections are irrevocable. Simply put, this means you cannot change the amount of your elections (sheltered premiums ) or your participation in Flexible Benefits during the Flex Plan Year unless you experience a valid Qualifying Event and have an approved "Change in Status".
Pre-printed annual enrollment forms (scan trons) will be distributed during the April 18th and April 25th meetings. If you would like the form early please notify Donna Ciccarella in Human Resources at ext. 242. If you have an error on your form, an address change, or changing your current health care plan please select, sign & date form and return to Human Resources by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2002. However, if you do not wish to change any information on your form, it is not necessary to return to Human Resources.
