Degree and Certificate Information

The division of Liberal Arts offers the following associate degrees:

The student may choose the Non-Prescriptive Course of Study curriculum for the Associate of General Studies degree, or the student may declare a concentration for the Associate of General Studies degree.  In the curriculum for the declaration of a concentration, the student must choose from one of the five concentration groups listed below, and twelve (12) hours must be taken within the declared concentration:

Group I - Arts Humanities, Speech, Theatre
Group II - Psychology, Sociology
Group III - History, Political Science, Geography
Group IV - Natural Sciences
Group V - Business, Accounting

For students planning to pursue the field of education, the College also offers an Associate of General Studies degree with concentrations in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education.

The student must declare a concentration for the Associate of Arts in Theatre form one of the two concentration groups listed below. To satisfy this requirement, a minimum of 21 hours must be taken within the declared concentration.

Group I - Performance Concentration
A minimum of 21 hours must be chosen from the following courses: THTR 101, THTR 153, THTR 154, THTR 255, THTR 256, THTR 211, THTR 156, THTR 157, THTR 232, THTR 112, THTR 116, THTR 258, THTR 120, THTR 220, THTR 221, or THTR 260.

Group II - Technical Concentration
A minimum of 21 hours must be chosen from the following courses:THTR 101, THTR 112, TEED 101, TEED 101L, TEED 102, TEED 102L, THTR 216, THTR 113, THTR 213, THTR 214, THTR 215, THTR 212, THTR 232, THTR 120, THTR 220, THTR 221, or THTR 260.
