The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is a unit within the Division of Administration. In addition, OMA is responsible for promoting cultural awareness and fostering a college-wide climate of respect while promoting diversity in a nondiscriminatory college community. The office provides diversity awareness programming to expose students, faculty, and staff to various cultures and ethnicities. More importantly, the director serves as an advocate for students of color and serves as Student Advisor to the BPCC Gospel Choir (BGC).
Personal Counseling Referrals
Students are able to obtain free counseling services by making an appointment with counselors in the counseling center to discuss issues that are of great concern to them on the college campus (e.g. academic support), personal counseling or career counseling.
Advocate
Serves as a liaison for Students of Color when necessary to provide assistance with college issues or concerns.
Talent Scholarships
This scholarship is offered by several organizations on a selective basis.
Academic Scholarships
This scholarship is offered to full-time students who meet academic requirements and are in good academic standing.
Louisiana Tuition Opportunity Programs for Students (TOPS)
BPCC participates in this state aid scholarship program administered through the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA).
