Submission Form

Submission Deadline: March 14, 2014

  1. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SUBMISSION FORM (see below).
  2. Names should appear on SUBMISSION FORM and in EMAIL BODY, not on actual submissions.
  3. All entries will go through a blind submission process and will be chosen by a jury.
  4. You are allowed five entries maximum per semester.
  5. Non-BPCC affiliated emails on the submission form will automatically disqualify the entry, so please be sure to use your BPCC email as your method of contact. The BPCC email is required.
  6. For writers--If you do not turn in an electronic entry, the piece will be disqualified. We will not type up your work for you.
  7. For artists—If your work is chosen, parts of your piece may be used to enhance the graphic design of the entire magazine.
  8. If your piece is chosen for the journal, it will automatically qualify for any possible contests that the journal may apply to through the Associated Collegiate Press, and proper credit will be given to you for the work that you have done.

Please also be sure to turn in by email a favorite picture (head shots are preferred) of yourself so that in the event your piece is chosen, we can feature you in our special introduction to our artists section.

LITERARY ENTRIES must be typed using 12-pt Times New Roman font and double spaced.

Short stories should be between 1 and 5 pages.

Written entries must be saved in Word (doc or docx) and submitted by email.

All ART ENTRIES should be submitted as jpg files with 300 dpi.

Probably the easiest way to properly transfer 2D artwork to an electronic format is by scanning the piece. Check out local print or sign shops for storing art electronically on disk or on jump drive. You may also leave the artwork with the advisor (see below) who will take pictures or scan the piece and promptly return it. Any original works left with the advisor will be discarded one month after the semester they were entered if they are not promptly retrieved.

Alternative submission process: You may turn in a hard copy submission form in G113 or G129, as well as include your submission on a jump drive or CD.
