Seven Basic Time Management Tips:

  1. Plan ahead – by the week but especially by each day – set workable goals – schedule important activities for the right time of day – make a “to do” list and stick to it – allow time for interruptions and distractions, be flexible
  2. Prioritize tasks – don’t over-commit yourself
  3. Take the time you need to do a quality job - Study two hours per hour in class for an easy class, three hours per hour in class for an average class, and four hours per hour in class for a difficult class
  4. Break large, time consuming tasks into smaller tasks (work on a dreaded task for 10-15 minutes each day)
  5. Limit distractions – concentrate and focus on the task at hand – learn to say “no” to friends – saying no frees up time for school work
  6. Get plenty of rest – take a break when needed
  7. Evaluate how you are spending your time – reward yourself
