Veteran Educational Benefits Guide

First of all, thank you for your service to our country or for the service of your veteran benefit sponsor (if you are the dependent of a veteran).

We will make every effort to process certifications as quickly as possible for paperwork received. Students with a continuing enrollment should take advantage of advance registration and turn in their paperwork by the posted deadlines.

Advance payments may be available, but should be requested no later than 45 days prior to the beginning of the semester in order to allow time for processing by BPCC personnel and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In most cases advance payments are not possible for continuing students except for the fall semester. (Please see BPCC VA Certifying Officials well in advance if this interests you. Not available at "BPCC at NSU".)

Please use the following guidelines to when completing paperwork for your benefits.

Take advantage of Advance Registration when it is offered. Students who take advantage of the advance registration and turn in documents prior to or on the payment deadline will experience a much smaller break between payments, if any.
Complete all student areas prior to meeting with your academic advisor. If they keep your paperwork, please insure that they indicate the date you turned it into them.
Do not complete any blocks that academic advisors are to complete such as hours earned toward your degree (if needed), required courses, required remedial courses.
Turn in your paperwork as soon as possible on or prior to the priority processing deadline. (Paperwork is stamped and processed according to the date it was received by the Admissions/Registrar’s Office.)
Finally, please read the statements on the blue BPCC VA Enrollment Verification form. These statements are there to aid you and to insure that the required information is received.

It is our goal to process your VA benefits as quickly and accurately as possible.
Please help us help you by turning in your paperwork as soon as possible, prior to registration, if possible.
