Workplace Literacy

Bossier Parish Community College's Workplace Literacy Program is designed to build and enhance area labor market skills.

Current programs include pre-employment skill assessments for area business, GED and literacy classes at BPCC and area job sites, and skill upgrades for area citizens interested in enhancing job performance.

GED Classes

Classes are free to the public and open to anyone 17 years of age or older. We will enroll new students for the fall 2009 semester on Friday, August 14 and Friday, August 21st. Interested students should report to building D by 8:30 a.m. for a class placement test. Please bring a photo ID.

The Act® National Career Ready Certificate

The Act® National Career Ready Certificate is a portable credential used to demonstrate individual work skills to employers.

  • Bronze Certificate indicates that certificate holder possesses skills meeting requirements of 33% jobs profiled by ACT
  • Silver Certificate that certificate holder possesses skills meeting requirements of 50% jobs profiled by ACT
  • Gold Certificate that certificate holder possesses skills meeting requirements of 80% jobs profiled by ACT
