NOW ENROLLING FOR FALL 2022
Deadline to apply for the program starting in August 2022 is June 17th at 5 p.m.
About Practical Nursing
Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) work in many settings, including long-term care facilities, acute care hospitals, physician offices, psychiatric and substance abuse treatment facilities, and home health care.
- Local job demand for LPNs is high and expected to grow
- PN program can be completed in five semesters
Where do I begin?
Students must take a placement exam prior to enrollment, such as ACT, Compass, Accuplacer, or TABE. It is imperative that the prospective student takes one of these tests as soon as possible to allow time for any required developmental studies. The TABE test is given on campus every Friday at 8:30 A.M. in room D-118. Click here to make an appointment.
Required courses: Practical Nursing students must complete the following courses with a grade of B (80%) or higher. These courses may be completed prior to or concurrent with enrollment in the practical nursing clinical courses. It is strongly recommended that students complete BLGY 120 during their first semester of enrollment at BPCC, prior to beginning clinicals.
- BLGY 120: Introduction or Anatomy and Physiology
- BLGY 203: Basic Nutrition
Pending Board of Regents approval, students may earn the Associate of Applied Science in Practical Nursing beginning in the fall 2022 by completing the following courses in addition to those required for the Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing.
