BPCC postpones summer graduation ceremony, moves Super Saturday to online event

Bossier Parish Community College has postponed its summer commencement ceremony, citing a rise in positive COVID-19 cases across the region and state. The ceremony was to be held Thursday, July 29, on the BPCC campus.

“While this was a difficult decision to make, it is the most prudent one for our campus community during this time. It is our hope that we will be able to reschedule it for a later date this fall with improved conditions,” said Dr. Holly French Hart, Associate Vice Chancellor of Institutional Effectiveness, Strategic Planning and Assessment and Acting Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

The college’s Super Saturday event will now be held online. The date and time remain the same - Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 9 a.m. to noon.

“While we are disappointed that we are not able to welcome students to campus as planned, we will virtually connect on Microsoft Teams to assist students with completing the enrollment process,” said Dr. Teresa Jones, Executive Director of Enrollment Management.

Updated information will be shared on BPCC’s social media and website as plans for both events are finalized.

Enrollment for the fall 2021 semester is currently open. Visit www.bpcc.edu to apply and get started. Fall classes begin August 19.
