BOSSIER CITY, La. – Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) will offer a new evening cohort for culinary students, beginning September 11, 2025. This fast-paced, flexible option is designed to support working individuals who are passionate about entering or advancing in the culinary and hospitality industries.
The cohort will include the following courses:
- CULA 120 – Food Preparation Principles
- CULA 125 – Basic Skills Development
- CULA 130 – The Hospitality Industry
Students enrolled in these courses can also earn the Certified Kitchen Cook credential from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), a nationally recognized certification that enhances job readiness and professional credibility.
“The launch of this evening cohort is an exciting milestone for our Culinary Arts program and a fitting way to celebrate Chef Appreciation Week,” said Quentin Calhoun, Dean of Business and Information Technology. “Our faculty bring more than two decades of industry expertise into the classroom, giving students direct access to the skills, techniques, and professional insights that employers value most. By offering a flexible evening option, we are removing barriers for working adults who aspire to build or advance their careers in the culinary and hospitality fields. This program reflects BPCC’s commitment to workforce innovation and to meeting the needs of both students and industry partners.”
