Get ready for sizzling competition and serious flavor as Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) hosts the Battle for the Golden Fork! The Prize Foundation’s signature cookoff will take place Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 5pm in the quad on the Bossier Campus, located at 6220 East Texas Street. Admission is free and open to the public.
Originally postponed due to weather during Prize Fest, the culinary showdown will feature three local chef finalists — Jasmine Cherry (The Noble Savage), Chelsea Girard (Heron/Mae & Company), and Dylan Teekell (Library on Fern). The chefs will face off in a Chopped-style mystery basket cookoff, preparing dishes for a panel of celebrity judges to determine who will win the coveted Golden Fork Award and a $5,000 grand prize.
“We’re excited to welcome the Prize Foundation and our community to campus for this high-energy culinary competition,” said Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr., Chancellor of Bossier Parish Community College. “Events like this showcase local talent and celebrate the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that make Northwest Louisiana so special.”
Food Prize Executive Director Gregory Kallenberg said the organization is thrilled to see the event return. “We’re so proud of these incredible chefs and can’t wait to see them face off in the ultimate culinary showdown,” he said. “We invite everyone to come out, cheer them on, and experience what makes Food Prize such a one-of-a-kind celebration.”
