Cajun-inspired children’s show set for BPCC Theatre Feb. 13–15

BOSSIER CITY — Louisiana storytelling comes to life on stage as BPCC Theatre presents Goldilocks and the Three Heberts, an original Cajun-inspired musical, Feb. 13–15 at the Stephen W. Slaughter Theatre.

This lively Children’s Show is an original musical written by Stephen W. Slaughter, founder of Bossier Parish Community College’s Theatre Program and a beloved Louisiana storyteller. The Cajun-inspired retelling of the classic fairy tale puts a local twist on the familiar story as swamp animals gather at a joyful fais do do to share the tale of Goldi Locks, a curious young girl with a funny habit of locking doors wherever she goes.

Goldi’s adventure takes her to the cozy home of Papa, Mama, and Baybay Hebert — the Three Bears — where she tastes their gumbo, tries out their chairs, and curls up in their beds. When mischievous Robespierre the Rabbit causes trouble, Goldi is blamed for the chaos and must race to set things right, clear her name, and restore peace to the swamp.

Packed with music, laughter, and plenty of Louisiana flavor, Goldilocks and the Three Heberts is a family-friendly production that promises fun for children and adults alike.

Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 14, at 4 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased online at bpcc.edu/theatre or at the box office beginning one hour prior to each show.
