BPCC TO RECEIVE $300,000 IN SCHOLARSHIP MATCHING FUNDS

Bossier Parish Community College and the BPCC Foundation are proud to announce the awarding of $300,000 in matching funds from the State of Louisiana Board of Regents Support Fund (BORSF). The BORSF was established in 1986 pursuant to an amendment to the Louisiana Constitution to maintain a source of state dollars in part for higher education grant opportunities for 2- and 4-year colleges in Louisiana. The Fund was designed to foster excellence in education, research and service, as well as promote economic development through collaborations between academic programs, business, and industry.

The following endowed scholarships received matching funds from the BORSF:

  • Bonvenu Bank (fka Citizens National Bank) / John R. McConathy Endowed Workforce Scholarship in Business
  • Juanita Epps Endowed Workforce Scholarship in Accounting & Finance
  • Louisiana State Contractor's Licensing Board (LCLB) Endowed Workforce Scholarship in Construction Crafts
  • John & Joanna Magale Endowed Workforce Scholarship in Allied Health
  • Louisiana Healthcare Connections Endowed Workforce Scholarship in Allied Health
  • BPCC Foundation Endowed Workforce Scholarship in Business for Student Athletes

Since 2018, the BPCC Foundation has awarded over $1M in scholarship awards and maintained a 95% retention rate among its scholarship recipients. With the addition of these funds, the impact on student success and completion will increase. This investment will also strengthen workforce and economic development by assisting more graduates enter high-demand careers that support the region’s growing industries and long-term success.
