BPCC’s HVAC Program Reaccredited for Six Years by HVAC Excellence, Recognized as Model for Technical Training

NATCHITOCHES – Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is proud to announce that its Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program at the Natchitoches campus has been reaccredited by HVAC Excellence for a full six-year term, effective from April 3, 2026, through April 2, 2032. The determination follows a successful site visit and formal review process confirming that BPCC’s program meets national standards for instruction and workforce preparation.

HVAC Excellence is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to improving education in the HVACR industry through national standards and support for educators preparing students for the demands of a rapidly evolving workforce. Programmatic accreditation from HVAC Excellence is an independent review of a specific program and affirms that students are receiving high-quality instruction aligned with industry expectations.

This distinction reflects the strength of BPCC’s HVAC program and its continued commitment to meeting the needs of business and industry across northwest and central Louisiana. At a time of significant economic growth and rising demand for skilled trades professionals, this reaccreditation signals to students and employers that BPCC is delivering a program that prepares graduates for the real demands of the workforce.

In its findings, HVAC Excellence praised BPCC for the support surrounding the program, noted the professionalism and hospitality shown during the visit, and specifically recognized Program Director John Jordan for going above and beyond for students. The review board also described BPCC as a “model for technical training in the HVAC/R field.”

“This reaccreditation is a point of real pride for BPCC and for our Natchitoches campus,” said Dr. Matthew Broxson, Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. “To receive the full six-year term from HVAC Excellence speaks to the quality of the program and to the work behind it. I am especially grateful to Mr. Jordan for everything he has poured into this effort. His commitment to students and to the program itself helped make this possible.”

The HVAC Excellence site team noted strong support for the program, close alignment with workforce needs, and a hands-on learning environment that helps students build real skill and confidence. Students interviewed during the visit spoke highly of the program and of Jordan’s impact on their success.

“Industry needs graduates who are ready to contribute from the moment they walk onto a jobsite, and this reaccreditation reinforces that BPCC is delivering exactly that,” said Joseph R. Brownlee, Executive Dean of Industry Partnerships. “At BPCC, that is the standard not just for HVAC, but across our workforce and academic programs. We work to ensure our graduates begin their careers ready to succeed, and we want our industry partners to know they can count on us to help meet the demands of a changing economy.”

BPCC’s HVAC program is offered at the College’s Natchitoches campus and prepares students for careers in one of Louisiana’s most essential and high-demand technical fields. Through a combination of classroom instruction, lab-based training, and industry-aligned curriculum, the program equips students with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to succeed in the modern HVAC workforce.
