BPCC Named Louisiana’s Top Cybersecurity Associate Degree Program for 2026

Bossier Parish Community College has been ranked the No. 1 Best Cybersecurity Associate Degree Program in Louisiana for 2026 by Programs.com, further solidifying the College’s role as a leader in cybersecurity education and workforce development across the state.

The recognition highlights BPCC’s continued investment in high-demand technology programs and its unique position within Louisiana’s growing cyber and defense industry ecosystem.

BPCC is the only community college in Louisiana designated as a National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (NSA CAE-CD), a distinction awarded to institutions that meet rigorous standards for cybersecurity education and academic excellence.

Located in the National Cyber Research Park in Bossier City, BPCC is situated alongside major cybersecurity and defense organizations, including General Dynamics Information Technology’s Integrated Technology Center, the Cyber Innovation Center, and the Louisiana Tech Research Institute. The proximity provides students with direct exposure to one of the nation’s largest concentrations of defense contractor cybersecurity operations and creates opportunities for internships, workforce training, and career placement.

“BPCC’s cybersecurity program is designed to prepare students for the realities of today’s rapidly evolving digital and defense landscape,” said Chris Rondeau, Program Director of Network Security and BPCC Foundation Endowed Professor in Cyber Technology. “This statewide recognition reflects the quality of our faculty, our industry partnerships, and the hands-on experiences our students receive from day one. Our students are not only learning in the classroom; they are training in an environment surrounded by active cybersecurity operations and workforce opportunities.”

BPCC also serves as the lead institution for the Louisiana Cyber Academy, a six-university consortium delivering shared cybersecurity coursework statewide through cooperative academic agreements. The collaborative model expands access to cybersecurity education and helps strengthen Louisiana’s talent pipeline in a field critical to national security and economic development.

Quentin Calhoun, Dean of Business and Information Technology at BPCC, said the ranking reinforces the College’s commitment to workforce readiness and regional economic growth.

“This recognition demonstrates BPCC’s commitment to building a highly skilled cybersecurity workforce for Louisiana and beyond,” Calhoun said. “The demand for cybersecurity professionals continues to grow across every industry, and BPCC is positioned to meet that demand through industry-aligned training, strategic partnerships, and direct connections to employers operating at the highest levels of cybersecurity and defense.”
