Paramedic Program
The clinical portion of the Paramedic program at Bossier Parish Community College is completed in groups or cohorts. There are day and evening cohorts and on and off campus cohorts. When a student applies to the Paramedic program, they must apply to join a specific cohort.
The clinical portion of the paramedic program is completed in groups or cohorts. Students apply for acceptance into a specific cohort once all of the prerequisites are met or will be met prior to when the cohort will begin the paramedic courses. Contact the program director for more information on when future cohorts will begin and how to apply for admission.
- Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- Mathematics (ACT Mathematics score of 19 or higher; placement test scores indicating competency, or completion of MATH 102/MATH 012L, or completion of ALHT 116)
- Place out of ENGL 099 by ACT or placement or complete the course with at least a C.
- Complete BLGY 230 and 231 (or equivalent from another institution) with at least a “C” in each course.
- Submit a complete application by the deadline.
- Prior to enrolling in the program, students should familiarize themselves with the Essential Requirements of the program.
Credit for experiential learning is not allowed for courses in the BPCC Paramedic program.

The paramedic program is required by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education programs to report a three year average of the following program outcomes. These numbers reflect all program graduates from the period specified in the table.

BPCC currently runs one Paramedic cohort each year, beginning in January and ending in March or April of the following year.
2027 Hybrid Paramedic Cohort
The next Paramedic cohort will begin in January 2027 and is scheduled to complete the program in March 2028. Applications are currently being accepted. The application deadline is 8am on October 26, 2026.
The Hybrid Paramedic cohort combines face-to-face instruction with online coursework delivered through myBPCC (Canvas). Students will attend class primarily on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, with both days covering the same course content. This flexible format allows students to attend one class day per week and coordinate their schedule around work and other commitments.
Apply to the 2027 Hybrid Paramedic Cohort
Interested students may submit an application online. Applicants should ensure they meet all admission requirements and submit their application before the deadline for consideration.
