Pharmacy Technician

The mission of the Bossier Parish Community College Pharmacy Technician program is to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work as a certified pharmacy technician under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in various types of pharmacies. 

The pharmacy technician works as an assistant to a registered pharmacist, assisting and relieving the pharmacist with routine technical and clerical duties and functioning in strict accordance with standard procedures and policies.  For a more complete description of a career as a Pharmacy Technician refer to the National Pharmacy Technician Association website.

The BPCC Pharmacy Technician Program offers both an Associate degree and a Certificate of Technical Studies in Pharmacy Technician.  Students are accepted in the fall (August) semester. College ready students can complete the Certificate of Technical Studies in three semesters and the Associate of Applied Science in four semesters.  Students completing the Certificate level program are eligible to return to BPCC to complete the Associate degree in the future.
