What is ProctorU?

ProctorU is a live online proctoring service that allows you to take your exam from the comfort of your home. ProctorU is available 24/7, however you will need to schedule your proctoring session at least 72 hours in advance to avoid any on demand scheduling fees. Creating a ProctorU account is very simple. All you will need to do is visit https://go.proctoru.com.

Testing Your Equipment

ProctorU also provides free technical support to ensure you have the best testing situation possible. That is available at "Testing Your Equipment." On this page you will also be able to test your equipment, learn about what to expect during your proctoring session, and ask any questions you may have about the proctoring process with a ProctorU representative.

In order to use ProctorU you will need to have a high-speed internet connection, a webcam (internal or external), a windows or apple Operating System, and a government issued photo id. ProctorU recommends that you visit "Testing Your Equipment" prior to your proctoring session to test your equipment. For additional technical services needed before your exam, you can click on the button that says "connect to a live person."

Additional Requirements:

  • A functioning microphone (some web cameras have them built-in)
  • A compatible browser: Google Chrome (preferred) or Mozilla Firefox

Not Supported:

  • Google Chromebooks (supported for G Suite Certifications and G Suite Administrator exams)
  • Tablets (Nexus, iPad, Tab, Note, etc.)
  • Smartphones
  • Linux operating systems
  • Windows 10 in S mode or Surface RT
  • No running inside a virtual machine. You will be asked to reconnect using your host operating system to take your exam.

Equipment Requirements

Rules to follow during all online proctored exams:

  • You must use a functioning webcam and microphone
  • No cell phones or other secondary devices in the room or test area
  • Your desk/table must be clear or any materials except your test-taking device
  • No one else can be in the room with you
  • No talking
  • The testing room must be well-lit and you must be clearly visible
  • No dual screens/monitors
  • Do not leave the camera
  • No use of additional applications or internet
