In an effort to minimize contact that could spread the COVID-19 virus, Bossier Parish Community College will continue to deliver instruction remotely through the end of the Spring semester as well as the Maymester and summer terms. BPCC is tentatively planning to return to normal on-campus operations for staff as soon as we receive guidance from the Governor’s Office and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that will allow it. Current telework strategies for BPCC faculty, staff, and administrators will continue with minimal staff physically on-campus to ensure continuity of essential services.
Courses delivered remotely
|Maymester||May 12 – June 4|
|Summer A||June 2 – July 27|
|Summer B||June 2 – June 29|
|Summer C||June 30 – July 27|
|BPCC@NSU B||June 1 – June 25|
|BPCC@NSU C||June 30 – July 24|
Making this decision now enhances our students’ ability to plan and make decisions, provides faculty more time to plan for online learning, and provides advisors with some clarity for at least the next three months. A broad range of courses will be offered during the summer terms in order to allow students to continue making progress toward their degrees.
Registration for May and summer terms is open now and advanced registration for the fall will begin on Wednesday, April 15. Remote academic advising is available, and advisors are making appointments to meet with students via phone and/or Zoom. Students will book appointments as normal and their advisor will call them. BPCC is providing remote resources to support students in their efforts to keep learning. These resources include guidance on being a successful online learner, questions about admissions, registration, financial aid, student disability services, and more. These resources have been centralized on a new “Keep Learning” web page found on BPPC’s home page.
We will continue to prioritize the safety of our students, faculty and staff as we do our part to help stem the spread of the coronavirus and fulfill our mission to graduate our students in these challenging times.
