Computers and Printers
The Learning Commons is equipped with over 200 computers for student use. These are divided between four areas: the first floor, the second floor, the Tutoring Center, and the classroom. Each computer is connected to a printing station where students may print research and classroom related material for free. Each student is allotted 300 pages per month.
Faculty may request to have software loaded on the computers by completing the Software Request Form. A copy of the license agreement should be forwarded to the Library. The library will submit all work orders to Computer Services.
Computer Use Policy
- These computers are the property of Bossier Parish Community College and usage is restricted according to the LCTCS Board and BPCC policies. The use of College electronic resources to make threats, engage in harassing behavior, and to view, download, or communicate pornography is prohibited.
- Only one student per computer is permitted, unless permission is granted from the Lab Manager.
- Printing is limited to 300 pages of research and classroom related material per student per month.
- There is no expectation of privacy. All computer activity is monitored.
Failure to abide by this policy may result in suspension and/or expulsion from the College.
The Learning Commons holds two KIC Bookeye scanners. One is located on the first floor and another is located in the Tutoring Center.
These scanners can be used to scan Reference and Reserve materials, which cannot be taken out of the Library. Scanned images can be e-mailed directly to the student or can be saved to a flash drive.
