BPCC is continuing to work through details for employees’ phased return to campus. We are continuing to establish appropriate safeguards and health measures that will be implemented to ensure the health and welfare of our personnel, which remains our highest priority.
As you know, yesterday, Governor Edwards issued a statement moving Louisiana into Phase 2 of his reopening plan. Beginning June 5th, the state will move into Phase 2 of the Open Safely LA plan. Attached is a link to the Phase 2 plan for return to campus based on the state and federal guidelines for reopening. This week, department supervisors are working on plans for their individual departments to identify essential services and personnel that will return to campus. Supervisors are using a check list to ensure that Vice Chancellors have all the information they need to approve the departmental plans for each division. Those plans will be forwarded to the Go Back Team for cross-campus coordination and my final approval.
In preparation, the Physical Plant and Janitorial Staffs continue to conduct thorough cleaning and sanitation throughout the campus. Additionally, our Purchasing Department has secured hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray and wipes, and personal protective gear for all employees to use while at work.
As more information becomes available, I will continue to update you on plans for the phased return of personnel to campus. Thanks for your patience and cooperation.
